LISTEN! HER SIREN CALL IS SILENCE
Daily Meditation, Inspirations, and Practices for the Sacred Masculine, September 6
Today's suggested practice: Day 6 of this month's practice... (see below)
My playlist while writing today's meditation: 11 minutes of listening into Her silence…
My morning practice: 3:30am for 75 minutes of physical, yogic, and meditative practice, including the Creative Capacity for Life meditation
My vulnerability practice: To listen to this silence and allow it to show me and more tender, more vulnerable, more receptive, truer way of being…with tears as well as laughter as well as wonder…
Hans Peter Meyer
TODAY'S MEDITATION
Listening….A grasshopper click-click-clicks its way through the air. Several small birds chirping. The cherry tree above me, so often host to many, many birds moving quickly from twig to branch to twig again, silent. The apple tree next to it hosts a solitary singer. One of my dogs, snoring in my lap. A neighbour tap-tap-tapping a piece of rebar into his scraped-bare back yard. A metal door slamming shut. This is the morning concerto that fuels today’s chapter.
I’m sitting in my garden office. It’s morning time. I’m listening to Her silence and following a practice given as part of the current “Creativity” sadhana by Tim & Marieke at Kundalini Yoga School in Amsterdam, one of my sources these past four years. The practice is not unlike John Wineland ‘s suggested practice for the masculine: to take time to sit and notice and allow Her to nourish us, as men. We need to become still to receive the nourishment, in this case the song, that is always here for us.
In my title I’ve suggested that Her silence, this silence I’m attending to this morning, is the Siren’s call. But how, you ask, how is this song which seems so nourishing, how is it Her Siren’s call?
The Siren’s call invites us to smash our ships on the rocks and be released from our masculine tasks, our masculine goals and purposes and all the many things we think and believe and are committed to achieving. She calls us to obliterate this mania for achieving, for doing, and realize we are already all that is necessary. We need only sit, and allow. Sit and wait. Sit and enjoy what She brings.… This is deep nervous system retraining. Listen… Let the silence lead you astray…
TODAY’S INSPIRATIONS
🌀The earth has music for those who listen. (George Santayana)
🌀Vibrate the Cosmos. The Cosmos shall clear the path. (Aquarian Sutra 5)
🌀The Conscious Warrior practices the cultivation of wonder and awe. (John Wineland, Precept 7)
TODAY'S SUGGESTED PRACTICE
Day 6 of this month's practice, take 8 minutes today to sit and listen to, or chant, the Ganesha Meditation... This meditation (Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha) brings our attention to our foundations, our roots, and invokes the Indian god Ganesha, a curious yet powerful character who removes all obstacles.
Please read through first, then ...
Today, sit (or stand) in stillness with these questions…. What stops me from listening? What stops me from allowing myself, even if only for 11 minutes of listening, to have all my purposes and tasks obliterated? And what would happen then?
Setup: your "setup" for this month's daily practice is how you "hold onto yourself" and receive...
Begin by closing your eyes and aligning your body into its truest, most elegant posture, tucking your chin to lift your heart, tilting your pelvis to straighten your spine. Become still, more still than you've ever been. Your alignment is the physical training for trustworthiness. Bring your hands to your heart, right (masculine) over left (feminine).
Focus on feeling the vibration. That is all.
Set your timer for eight minutes or listen to the “Ganesha” mantra by Deva Primal here:
As the timer signals or the mantra ends allow your eyes to slowly open. Take three, relaxed breath cycles, no pressing, no effort, and feel yourself full, without thoughts, open. Safe to receive. Then, step into your day, letting the mantra echo as a nourishing vibration whenever you become still. You don't need to DO anything. Let the world come to you with its demands, its complaints, and yes, its endless tide of gifts and blessings.✨✨✨
