Daily Meditation & Practice for the Sacred Masculine, April 26

  • Today's suggested practice: 3 minutes.... (see below)

  • My playlist while writing today's meditation: Ennio Morricone, Deborah's Theme (Buniatishvili)

  • My morning practice: 75 minutes: Short warm-up with focus on lower triangle, followed by Sat kriya and Linking to the Infinite pranayama and mantra

  • My vulnerability practice: Feel into this moment... a little deeper, more open, letting my heart lead me, believing myself capable of even greater depth, even more feeling into...

—Hans Peter Meyer

MY MEDITATION The openings. The closings. The choices. They never end.

I feel my impulses. I feel the pull of my primitive defensiveness. I feel her soft resistance to my suggestions (aka my wants, my ideas of what this moment needs). I notice myself, puzzled: my mind wants to close to this moment, to defend, to push for my way, what I think of as my wisdom.

By the grace of practice, by the grace of self-discipline in consistently, daily practice and training of my nervous system I do not close. I do not defend. I do not persist with my "wisdom." Instead, I open. I feel into this moment with curiosity. I experience myself different than I imagine myself to be.

I am the subject of a grand experiment: What happens if...?

What happens after the application of years of training in the formulae of traditional "manly" success in this world, followed by a plunging into the acid bath of regret, itself followed by the consistent practice of yoga —resetting, realigning with the man I am? What happens?

Reporting on results to date, as at April 26, 2022: This man's body-mind is calmer, happier, more able to receive, and less willing to revert to primitive defensive responses when presented with the treasures of her unknown and unknowable nature.

I feel into this moment, as I have never been able to feel into any moment, and, my heart breaking open, I relax and feel even deeper. I am training myself to hold THIS space.

TODAY'S INSPIRATIONS 🌀Our prayer is that you're an outlier. That you're compassionate in the face of the fearful, loving in the face of the violent, understanding of all those emotional children with adult minds and bodies who've no way of navigating life except with terror and violence. Help them to help themselves...their violence is a scream for help...your compassionate consciousness will create the peace that allows human life to live on Earth. (Guru Singh and Guruperkarma Kaur, Natural Systems)

🌀Recognize that the other person is you. (Yogi Bhajan, Aquarian Sutra 1)

🌀The Conscious Warrior is committed to developing strength of the mind, physical body, and nervous system through dedicated physical, yogic, and meditative practice. (John Wineland, Precept 6)

🌀You're not like that now. (My beloved, my Oracle)

🌀Polarity without love looks a lot like manipulation. (Nina Lombardo)

TODAY'S SUGGESTED PRACTICE 3 minutes to feel into this moment...

Please read through first, then ...

  • Before you begin, note that you will not be asked to change anything about yourself in these three minutes. You will only be asked to bring your attention to how you are in this moment, and then to feel into this. Now, set your timer for three minutes.

  • Sitting or standing, close your eyes and bring your attention to your spine and ask, How does this spine feel? Scan, slowly from the base of your spine up through the lower back, the middle back, the upper back and between your shoulders, your neck, up to the connection with your skull. Ask yourself, How aligned am I? Where do I feel crooked or kinked? Feel into your spine and allow it to reveal itself in all of its strength, all of its pains, all of its connectedness to all the other parts of your body...

  • Bring your attention to your breath and notice your breath coming into your body, leaving your body. Ask, How deep am I breathing? How shallow am I breathing? Am I breathing through my mouth, through my nose? If my nose, can I feel which nostril is breathing in this moment? Feel into your breath as it moves into your body, into the top of your throat and down as far is it goes... Be with your breath, not changing it, simply feeling what comes as you accompany it into your body.

  • Continue to feel into yourself, wherever you feel the path or way easiest into yourself. There is no right way or wrong way, there is only paying attention and following wherever there is opening, deepening. And if there is no apparent opening, no path to follow, simply hold your attention on your breath and on you spine, noticing...

  • When the timer signals, slowly open your eyes. Stand still for three breath cycles, longer and deeper into your belly than you have been. As you do this, allow your eyes to notice all that is around you. And, step back into your day...
